Description
NAPLs do not readily dissolve in water, but either float or sink in it depending on its density. A NAPL contamination plume usually has multiphase flow.
Why are nonaqueous phase liquids important?
It is a common contaminant found in groundwater in urban and industrial areas. It is difficult to detect and quantify the occurrence or movement thereof, therefore making remediation difficult.
