The Centre for Water Sciences and Management is
built on the pillars of research, education and social
responsibility. It consists of a core skills base interacting
with related NWU research initiatives. This multi-disciplinary
approach is adopted to assist both industry and government in
addressing many of the water related problems facing South
Africa. The centre is also home to Eco-Analytica Laboratories.

About
Eco-Analytica laboratories are equipped with modern facilities and operated by well trained staff. Analyses are frequently subjected to quality control schemes from Wageningen and Agrilasa and is soon to be SANAS accredited. The laboratory offers a wide spectrum analyses for water, soil, sediments and plants.

Teaching
The honours degree is a full-time degree. Undergraduate students with a background in Geology, Chemistry or Mathematics are typically considered for this degree.
This degree is either part-time (maximum 3 years) or full-time (maximum 2 years). There is no course work associated with this qualification and is purely research driven. Prospective students are required to submit a research proposal that will be evaluated together with their academic background.
